Social Lab

Welcome to Social Psychology Laboratory

Our lab is one of the most recent to join the department. You can find more information about us on our individual web pages and on this page in the future. If you are interested in joining us or have any questions, please contact one of the faculty members below.

Our research focuses on

  • Turkish culture and cross-cultural comparisons, especially in terms of family, self, honor, emotional display rules, and acculturation processes;
  • prejudice and discrimination vis-a-vis various social categories;
  • interpersonal processes such as transference;
  • person perception (e.g., face perception, spontaneous trait inferences);
  • political psychology (e.g., implicit and explicit measures of liberalism-conservatism)

and various other topics. We study these topics using a variety of methods; such as computer-based measures that we collect in our lab; naturalistic observations; paper-and-pencil and online surveys, etc.
