BOĞAZİÇİ UNIVERSITY
CENTER FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH
AND SERVICES
MISSION STATEMENT
Our center aims to provide outpatient clinical services as well as preventive interventions to the community, serve as a clinical training site for graduate level clinical psychology students, and produce as well as disseminate research informed by contextualist, biopsychosocial model of human development and developmental psychopathology. The center’s primary emphasis is on preventive interventions geared towards the most vulnerable populations in the country such as disadvantaged young children and youth as well as immigrant children and their families. A contemporary and pressing issue in Turkey is the psychological experiences of increasing numbers of immigant populations. We plan to focus on trauma research in our future projects and engage in community work with immigrant children and their families to enhance their resilience and well-being.
