Welcome!

The Department of Psychology at Boğaziçi University began in 1973 as part of a Department of Social Sciences (along with sociology and political science) and was founded as an independent entity in 1983.  We aim to conduct highly impactful theoretical and applied research across a wide variety of issues, as well as to educate the next generation of psychologists.

We have 12 full-time faculty who conduct research of international calibre in 7 state of the art research labs.  The department offers a highly competitive undergraduate education, accredited by the Turkish Psychological Association, with hands-on research experience in an intellectually stimulating atmosphere.  We also offer M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in the psychological sciences and clinical psychology.  Several adjunct faculty and emeritus/emerita professors support these activities.
